Frequently asked questions

What you need to know about the catalogue, the collection and the project. Nothing is promised here that isn't already in place.

The catalogue

What is AlmostAll?

A catalogue of Legami erasable gel pens — the Erasable Pens — and a notebook for tracking your collection. It covers editions still on sale and those long gone, with their reference, character, ink colour and the boxed set they came from.

Is this Legami's official site?

No. AlmostAll is an independent project by collectors. It is neither affiliated with, sponsored by, nor endorsed by Legami S.p.A. “Legami” is a registered trademark of its owner, used here only to identify the products concerned.

What is an EP code?

The reference Legami prints on the pen, in the form EPXXXX. It is the surest identifier of an edition: two pens may share a commercial name, never a reference at the same time. Search it as it is in the header field — “43”, “EP43” and “EP0043” all lead to the same pen.

Why does the same pen have two codes?

Because Legami renumbered part of its range. The “Hug Me” panda carried EP0001, then EP0060. Every affected page shows the whole chain: which code comes before, which comes after, and from when.

Star base, logo base: what does that mean?

The marking printed on the barrel, just above the eraser. The star — in the ink colour, or white — predates 2023, the red logo follows it. Two copies of the same code can therefore be two distinct pieces — and here, they are collected separately. The star base marks an older production: for the same code, it is the one collectors look for.

Is the catalogue complete?

No, and we show it rather than hide it: the footer states at all times how many editions are documented. When a reference is missing, the page says so plainly instead of returning an error.

My collection

How do I add a pen?

From the catalogue, hover a thumbnail and click the “+”. From a pen's page, the “I have it” button. Either way the addition is instant, and it can be undone.

How do I read the board?

In colour, the pen is yours. In black and white, you're missing it. That's all the board says at a glance. The squiggle under the thumbnail gives the ink colour — not the pen's.

What is the wishlist for?

For noting what you're after without claiming to own it. The heart on a thumbnail is enough, and the list opens from your account menu.

What about duplicates?

A duplicate is one more copy, not a counter: each keeps its own acquisition date, source, condition and notes. The collection can filter them, so you see at once what you have to trade.

Can I buy pens here?

No. AlmostAll sells nothing and links to no shop. Prices aren't even shown.

Account and data

Do I need an account to browse?

No. The catalogue, the pen pages, the characters and the boxed sets all read without an account. The account only exists to remember what you own.

Is my collection public?

No, it is private by default. Nothing you enter is visible to anyone else unless you publish a showcase yourself.

Can I get my data back, or erase it?

Yes, at any time and without writing to us. Your collection exports as JSON or CSV from your account; the same screen lets you import it back and delete your account for good.

The project

Is it really free?

Yes. No advertising, no in-app purchase, no paid tier, no cap on how many pens you add. If that ever changes, it will be written here before it is applied.

Which languages?

French, English, Italian and German. The addresses translate too: /fr/stylos, /en/pens, /it/penne, /de/stifte — while the reference itself never changes from one language to the next.
